The Sustainability Report of Sacco System, updated for the year 2022, has reached its fourth edition. It is a significant document for us as it attests to what is being done for sustainability, presented in an organic and comprehensive manner.We write this document because it can help better understand and provide a comprehensive view of the improvements achieved by supporting sustainable practices, showcasing to our stakeholders in an organic and rational form all the work done in favor of sustainability.

2022 was a challenging year due to excessive increases in energy costs, but we endeavored to react and never stopped. As a demonstration and recognition of our commitment, the turnover still recorded excellent growth.
The year also witnessed a considerable effort in study and research to develop products suitable for the fermentation of vegetables or their extracts. The vegan market and similar philosophies demand alternatives to animal-derived products with more appealing flavors than those currently on the market. We believe that this market can bring us economic satisfaction in the near future.

Furthermore, we have been committed to strengthening our global presence. We are working to establish offices and branches in the world's most important markets, aiming to be directly present without intermediaries. We will diversify our offering, with particular attention to alternative foods, animal products, biostimulants, and plant protection crops.

We are developing numerous products that help reduce the use of water and pesticides in agricultural crops, and we have noticed a growing interest from major companies in 2022. Following the European Commission's "Farm to Fork" strategy, we have developed new ferments for food protection, contributing to reducing food resource waste.

In the Microbiome division, we have studied and produced new microorganisms that safeguard the well-being and health of humans, effective in certain pathologies, allowing us to harness effective remedies already present in nature.

For us, this is the best way to contribute to sustainable development and the achievement of the Agenda 2030 Goals: doing our best, what we know best, by disseminating biotechnological solutions to address environmental or social challenges.
